Your Savingram No. 810 of 17th August,
1948, and para. 4 of your Savingram No: 948 of (6)
23rd September, 1948, salaries of Technical
Education Staff. The question of approved exper-
ience to count for increments and the general
question of the salary scale for Technical Staff
of the Education Department are still under
consideration, following further representations
by the officers concerned.
In your Telegram No. 679 of 15th June,
1948, you approved the ommission of the $760
per month step in the third year in the
Administrative and certain other professional
scales. The Conditions of Service Committee
(271) on 53723/48
has recommended that on the analogy of the amendment
made in similar scales the step should also be
ommitted from the revised scale for Chief Technical
Instructors, which at present runs from 8720 x 40
to 1000 x 60 to $1300.
I am in agreement with this proposal,
in respect of which the approval of Finance
Committee has been obtained, and should be glad
to have your approval for the amendment.
